The movie would seem bland without it now. I guess it's just something you get or you don't.

I saw it twice in the theatres and since i bought the DVD I've watched it 4 times.

The 2nd one is alot more like a western. Not very much combat really at all. Lot's of dialogue and story though.

well I've seen a few Bruce Lee flics and dont remember that happening. Guess I wasnt expecting it more than anything. still loved the flic

I was under the impression the spraying blood was more of a relfection of the animated violence style... the movie had more of an anime flavour than an old kung-fu movie flavour to me... of course, the anime sequence might have something to do with that...

yeah, it was for more of an anime feel (just look at O-Ren's history part) but, the cutting off limbs and having stubs and people screaming was in like, old kung-fu and samurai movies back in the day, and, well, Tarntino takes from what he likes, and he likes those movies
